Book Review Time

Almost every week Justin and I go the library. He gets to take home four books. He usually chooses the four that he wants but last week I added this one to the four he brought home. He wasn't too impressed with that choice, UNTIL, mommy read the book. All the animals are so soft and quiet when they sing a welcome to Baby Jesus, but the donkey... well... you'll have to read the book yourself to find why he likes it so much. When we were done reading it the first couple of times I said to Jim... I wouldn't mind having this is part of our Christmas book collection, it's just a nice cute book. :)
What can I say? My boy is a boy is a boy. Trucks are cool! Car-car! Lots of big trucks, Lots of noise while reading it. Would I buy it? No, but it's a good one to borrow for a week or two. Mark Todd has written a few other books that I'm sure in time Justin will remove from the library for a spell as well.

Five in a bed. Did you know this song? Justin likes it. It's fun to watch all the teddies fall out of bed. It's worthy of LOTS of exclamation points and LOTS of talking! Oh no...another fell out! :)
Not from the library, from our own collection. The very fact that this lift the flap book is getting rather battered is evidence of it's likeablility among the toddler crowd. Dogs bark, owls hoot, ducks quack! Come, learn and discover all the sounds that animals make.

I have to admit, I'm not terribly impressed with this book. Justin is okay with it. He likes the page where the chickens eat grain, and where the egg has a chick coming out of it. Talks and looks at those pages frequently. He likes turning the flaps, but this is not the page turner that the book above is. Not a bad book in and of itself, just rather repetitious.

I like the last one... but that's mainly because the duck appears to be the star on the cover.

We have about 17 ducks here... and do they ever quack!!

So Jen, do you just like ducks or why do you have 17 of these loud creatures wandering your place? And well..be glad they are ducks... Geese are even louder! :)

We have a large pond on our property, and several years ago, Denny's brother gave us three ducks. It's kind of evolved from there...

And yes, there is a distinct difference between your Canada geese and our nice, quiet little ducks... which is why we always run your geese off!
