4. Christian fiction author. He writes books for adults as well as children.
5. Military adventures abound! Has some 20 books to his credit. Can't say I like them all, but I do, for some reason, like his writing style. :)

What was I doing 10 years ago?
Working a night job. Growing in my faith as I attended a church completely different than what I grew up in.

Five Snacks I enjoy:

Five Things On My To-Do List Today:
End of day so....
1. Brush my teeth
2. Go to the bathroom
3. Pray with Jim
4. Read for five minutes

Things I Would Do If I Were A Billionaire:
1. Buy a farm.
2. Pay off all debts.
3. Get my dad the biggest scooter that I could buy for him. Help his mobility
4. Visit my sister and her family out west.
5. Give my hubby a six month sabbatical.
6. Learn a great deal about people, probably quicker than I want to.
7. Other than that....I have NO clue. :)

Five Jobs I Have Had:
1. Pig farmer's assistant...liked this, could easily do it again
2. attendant for elderly person....disliked this job intensely
3. one-to-one worker with special needs children
4. Counsellor in Group home for special needs
5. Owner/operator of AT home pets (rabbits, mice and guinea pigs)

Five of My Bad Habits:
1. I love Free stuff. Will collect it until I drive my hubby nuts. Granted...I do have a large yard sale every year and make dollars off it....so It's not all bad
2. I don't consider certain words to be bad language...other people do. it's a battle to retrain myself. :) I lose often. :(
3. I am not the words neatest housekeeper. My attitude is...It'll do.

Five Random Things (most people wouldn't know about me):
1. I have never met anyone famous, not even once...at least not that I knew (would I even know...that would be the question).
2. I am 5'10" tall, really...even if my family members seem taller at times (they are mostly 5'10" as well).
3. I have no stylist. I get my haircut only when I've cut my bangs at least twice and the rest is just starting to make me wake up feeling angry.
4. I used to get really odd dreams if I got overtired. Bears chasing me and I could never just get away from them. used to leave me in tears many a night.
5. I being outside...even just having a picnic lunch, or walking to a park, gardening, watching bunnies binking, and so forth.

Vacation Report - May 2008

Jim had a week off work.
It was filled with this that and the other thing. :)

Go here for stuff that Jim did. Van work, garden work and such like.

Go here for our trip to the zoo. Warning this is fairly picture laden.

We also spent the weekend attending as volunteers at the Regionals trials for the Agility Association of Canada. We had a lot of fun. Saw a lot of dogs run. Some really good, some well... some that needed to do some more work on handling skills and/or focus. As volunteers we were treated well, though I found not as many messages of appreciation thrown my way as last year, thought that a bit odd. But hey, I did my job as best I could and had fun doing it. I stewarded, Jim ring crewed on Saturday. Sunday morning we listened to a sermon on the radio, and both of us ring crewed for the duration of the day. Jim received a Starbucks card for his help, I picked up a shirt and some pretty candles for helping out. OH! and in the Saturday raffle I won a new chair! Cool eh? Justin and Sassy stayed at gramma's house.

This morning Jim left at 700 a.m. to go the banner of truth Trust conference that he attends annually. He took a fellow pastor from town down with him.

So that's it. Justin and I will hold down the fort here this week. Jim will hopefully recoup some energies and life continues under God's good graces.

Bird-brain!

Isn't it amazing the ingenuity God has given to his creation?

Bill owns a company that manufactures and installs car wash systems. Bill's company installed a car wash system in Frederick, Md. Now, understand that these are complete systems, including the money changer and money taking machines.

The problem started when the new owner complained to Bill that he was losing significant amounts of money from his coin machines each week.

He went as far as to accuse Bill's employees of having a key to the boxes and ripping him off. Bill just couldn't believe that his people would do that, so they setup a camera to catch the thief in action. Well, they did catch him on film!


That's a bird sitting on the change slot of the machine.



The bird had to go down into the machine, and back up inside to get to the money!


That's three quarters he has in his beak! Another amazing thing is that it was not just one bird -- there were several working together. Once they identified the thieves, they found over $4000 in quarters on the roof of the car wash and more under a nearby tree.

And you thought you heard of everything by now!! !!

And to think the phrase "bird brain" is associated with being dumb. Not these birds. Share the story!!

Can you find the names of 25 books of the Bible in this paragraph?

This is a most remarkable puzzle. Someone found it in the seat pocket on a flight from Los Angeles to Honolulu, keeping himself occupied for hours. One man from Illinois worked on this while fishing from his john boat. Roy Clark studied it while playing his banjo. Elaine Victs mentioned it in her column once. One woman judges the job to be so involving, she brews a cup of tea to help calm her nerves. There will be some names that are really easy to spot... that's a fact. Some people will find themselves in a jam, especially since the book names are not necessarily capitalized. The truth is, from the answers we get, we are forced to admit it usually takes a minister or scholar to find all of them at the worst. Something in our genes is responsible for the difficulty we have. Those able to find all of them will hear great lamentations from those who have to be shown. One revelation may help, books like Timothy and Samuel may occur without their numbers. And punctuation or spaces in the middle are normal. A chipper attitude will help you compete. Remember, there are 25 books of the Bible lurking somewhere in this paragraph!.
