God is the Only God

I was reading today from Isaiah 44 and came across this verse:

6Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel
and his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts:
"I am the first and I am the last;
besides me there is no god.

How succinct is that?

People like to make up their own gods, deciding for themselves what or who is most important. But God is very clear. There is only one God..and he is it. None else need apply.

Seems to me to fit well with what Even So wrote on today. Check that out here. Who do we worship? Our own feelings (therefore making them a bit of a 'god'), or do we truly worship God himself?
