Is this important to remember?

Interesting this:

From Jeremiah 31:
35Thus says the LORD,
who gives the sun for light by day
and the fixed order of the moon and the stars for light by night,
who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar--
the LORD of hosts is his name:
36"If this fixed order departs
from before me, declares the LORD,
then shall the offspring of Israel cease
from being a nation before me forever."

1. God is the one who made the "natural" order of things.

2. If God's order of things stops....then so does the nation of Israel stop being his nation of Israel.

Conclusions to draw:

1. The world doesn't simply run because "evolution" has decreed it to be. The world doesn't simply move and rotate because of some big bang theory and so forth. GOD set it all into motion. We can have the science to explain why things happen, rotational forces and all that. BUT the ultimate answer to why does the sun rise, and the moon circle and all that is GOD set it all into motion. It is all God's doing.

2. The likelihood of this changing is slim to none. God has set it all into motion and he is not quick to change things. One day there shall be a new heaven and a new earth....some say that that new heaven and earth will be this one, just changed to overcome the results of sin in the world. I"m not sure what I believe in regards to that. But the nation of Israel will remain God's nation as long as the world keeps doing it's thing. (well...God's thing)

Seems an important thing to remember.

Oh...to further emphasize this point, if we read further we come to this:
37Thus says the LORD:
"If the heavens above can be measured,
and the foundations of the earth below can be explored,
then I will cast off all the offspring of Israel
for all that they have done,
declares the LORD."

Scientists, with all their machines, telescopes and space vehicles have still been unable to measure how high up the heavens go. They make guesses, but they haven't been able to fully explore it all. And who has ever been able to fully explore the earth beneath our feet? No-one. Is it possible that some day this might happen? I don't know... But it does surely tell me that God's commitment to his people is everlasting.
